Talking Importing my bike, need help!!

Hey guys,
I moved to Sydney a year ago on a work/holiday visa and been absolutely loving it. I'm getting sponsored from work to stay another 4 years, Which means I can finally reunite with my baby here. I'm on my last stage of approval on my visa and as soon as that happens I want to get the process of bringing my warrior here started.
I have done some good research, and already know a few key things to bring a Warrior to Aussie. I have owned my Warrior for about few years now.
I need your help. I have only seen two warriors in Sydney in the past year. I need to know the people that have been in a similar situation as me and how they made it work with shipping and customs.
Also with rules here what I need to do, becuse my warrior is very custom. I have had a lot done to it, and the two things that I'm so worried about are; aftermarket exhaust and rear fender(I don't have a read fender)
PLEASE help me because I been waiting a very long year with out my baby, and I can't wait to have her here and be able to ride around in Australia .
Feel free to contact me directly. I appreciate any insight that I can get.

Cheers,

Just on a quick side note, your bike is what made me fall in love with the warrior. Absolute beast you've got there. That being said, do youthe have front turbsignals? And straight pipes might be a problen. Honestly I'd go to your local police department and talk to the sheriff or whoever knows the most and get some answers

There a few people in Oz that have imported there bikes.
If you can be patient then I am sure one of them will get around to reading this and letting you know the process.

Welcome to oz mate. I haven't imported a bike before so I'm unable to help you there but if your aftermarket bits are a issue I still have the stock muffler in my garage we can temporary fit to your beast to get you legal if required. I'm still using the stock fender and turn signals, but I'm sure we could fit it to yours to get you through. There are a few sydney boys around so I'm sure we can sort something out. Let me know if I can help out, mobile is 0425354269 I'm based in Raby2566. Cheers Tosh

Thanks guys, I actually just got my visa approved this morning. I love Sydney, and words can't explain how excited I am to be able to have my warrior here and to ride again!! Every time I hear or see a bike pass by, I look and stare like a little kid!!
I know I have to do some adjusting to my bike before it could be legal to ride here. I just know its going to be a pain in the butt and costly..But at the end well worth it
Ama, thanks mate for the kind words, I remember exactly my first time when I saw this sick warrior at my local gym and fell in love with it. I use to ride sport bikes, and told my self if I ever make the switch it will be without a doubt a Warrior.
Tosh I will keep it touch with you and let you know. Can't wait to be part of the Aussie riding community.
Cheers

I spent a few months in AUS and have to say, I love Sidney! Great city! For that matter, the whole country is great. Loved my time there.

I don't have any advice on the import but wanted to wish you Congrats on the move!

Oh, another thing, make sure you drive in the left lane while you're there!

Hi there,

Welcome to down under.
As already said, some of the folks down here has done this before, so procedures are in place.
Most of us have spare bits floating around so that is sorted.
The biggest issue I see is the rear fender and associated bits. Here in Au you need to have your plate in a certain spot (read behind your wheel) not aside it as some boys in blue need to be able to photograph you from 45 degrees each side. Do not despair I have a rear fender and associated bits for this and am willing to borrow this for your certification, Will need them back though

Just ask, and you will be surprised how many are willing to help out

Oops, just read Tosh his reply, so now there are multiple sources for lending material. Sorry Tosh, did not wanted to overshadow your offer.... See me as second option .....

Cheers

Default Possible assistance..

Hi somkatoozi, Where abouts in Sydney are you staying? I may be able to help also. I live in Padstow. I too have a stock exhaust, which you could borrow. (I keep it incase I get pulled over for my Big Radius noisy ones.) Can't help ya with blinkers or guard, sorry. Cheers - and Welcome !!
