Several guys have DIY'd rotating pulley covers, this would be perfect to experimant (or to replace one that didn't go so well). Its good you hung onto it so long.

Sorry I had been putting stuff on here first but wasn't getting any bites so just went to ebay with this, things seem to move faster on there.

Thanks for posting the link to ebay, I was able to get a bid in even though the shipping adds up fast when we live in Canada.

Things worked out, i've used ebay for years and one advantage is that paying on ebay is a breeze. Not sure I like bidding for stuff that is posted on the forum but...in this case the price may have actually been lower that way.
