My bike is back up thanks to JBat's quick thinking. Just want to make sure I will be at the right spot. 8 am at Safeway 4950 Almaden Expressway in San Jose is this correct?

and I will see you guys at about 10 at savemart parking lot on highway one and carmel valley road. When you get to the light at the intersection of 1 and carmel valley road (16) you make a left onto carmel valley road and at the 1st light you will make a right to pull into the savemart parking lot.

Well, had a great ride today, there were 8 of us. I had to turn around early to get back by 3:30 so just got home a bit ago.
Missed a turn on Carmel Valley Rd and ended up on the dreaded dead end Martin Rd, so decided to turn around (once I realized it) and go back out Carmel Valley to Hwy 1, and up the coast to Capitola. All good, had a great French Dip for lunch in Capitola and then back over Old San Jose Soquel Rd to Summt Rd, down Old Santa Cruz Hwy and back into Los Gatos. 236 miles on the clock today and my clutch cable started to stretch around Capitola, had to pull over and adjust it, looks pretty frayed so time for a new one. Thanks again to Scott for organizing this, and everyone who showed up to ride. By the way, a few of you guys are seriously FAST. I am not one of them. |

It sure was a great ride and was great to meet up with all of you......I could use the excuse that I got caught behind a slow moving vehicle when the road got too tight to pass, but really it would not have made a difference as I didn't have enough nerve/guts to push myself through those curves anyway....... you guys have some serious skills as we lost sight of you all pretty quickly......
We (Steve and I) caught up to CaliforniaCruiser and we turned around where he did as it seemed like we were off the beaten path. We took a chance and turned on to another road that after we got far down enough, it didn't seem right either....We cut our losses and headed back to where we came up Carmel Valley. In the ultimate good guy move 8Pack backtracked looking for us and popped into the Running Iron where we decided to stop for lunch. Turns out we turned around too soon and likely would have caught up with the pack...... ![]() Thanks for the great ride anyway, and I learned alot riding with you guys. I hope we do it again soon.....

That was awesome.....
310 miles through some great roads. Mikey took us through Uvas Meadows (great route dude). I feel a little bad since we got ahead of 3 of the rider's (little peg scraping for those that wanted to). Well those 3 riders got lost and had to return to the start. After sitting on the side of the road for a bit, 8pack headed back to see where they were. He found them, glad everyone was OK, but they had decided to head back another route. Sorry if our riding caused anyone any problems. Typical fashion has the 'squirters' heading out front and waiting at any major turn. It was a windy road. I have a video of riding Carmel Valley Road that I will post in the next few days. It is 35 minutes, so I will cut it in half and post two. Great ride, great folks, great scenery, doesn't get much better than that. Greta riding with you all: Bladerunr Warriordude Jbat CaliforniaCruiser MikeY 8pack Steve (MikeY's friend) Gotta do more.
