can we create Polls?

Can we create a poll on this site?

Under additional options i see the POST A POLL in red section below, i clicked YES (on this post in fact, i selected 3 options) but see no other options to set it up.

Here would be my first POLL question:

• This is an area (like politics) that we cant be trusted with

or

• Im an idiot that cant figure it out by my self

I did a search that seemed to bring this up but with no resolution: can rswarrior do polls?

It would be cool to be able to click a vote for something or another, as in the example from the link above.

when i submitted the original post above, the system thanked me for posting, and told me it would now bring me to my poll...

**COOL!!**


I entered the 3 options questions... entered the number of days, selected allow members to see results...

than submitted that and got an error msg asking me to please enter questions and options and to click the back button to resubmit...

**[shrug]... busted, broke-a$$, ghetto poll forum....**

Yes, members can and do start new polls. For examples, type the word 'poll' into the forum's GOOGLE search field top of screen, the yield includes results from mods and members. For the Poll you are suggesting, you might be better in the Anyting Goes forum but once you know your exact question(s) the placement will be easier to determine.

It sounds like you did everything right, and if there was a forum hiccup or a broswer hiccup then use the 'testing' forum to start another and after a couple attempts you'll see how it works. Its critical that you ask separate questions that do not overlap, so for a first Poll its handy to use a question where the only answer options are 'yes' or 'no'. Doing a simple poll first you'll then be able to develop workable questions for multi response polls that are not confusing and result in clear vote responses. It all makes more sense after you do a few test polls in the 'testing' forum.

BTW ignore any forum posts about 'polls' which have dates prior to the new forum migration (January 1st 2011).
