Really? There are (or have been) over 44,000 signups? I just joined a bit over three years ago and if I am not mistaken, I am #3,925...

That can't be accurate since we only have 25k members and I know I'm #3 and it says on something like 20k. You used to be able to see your member number in the forum a few previous versions back. It was listed under your member title. I know of no way to find that now.

The only member numbers for any member who registered after the new forum started can be found by clicking on your Profile and looking in the browser address bar for the URL (see the number at the end). The new forum owners have several forums and that number is (I gather) based on the number of members registered in all their forums.

For prior members, one way to get guesstimate your own original forum number is to take Sangathor's new member number (20,609) and subtract 3 (his original member number) resulting in 20,606. That seems to mean the when we migrated to the new forum they already had 20,606 members in various forums. So if earlier members subtract 20,606 from their new member number that 'might' be the number in RSW terms.

But there could be flaws in this logic for members who signed-up after the new forum started and that's why in the past I've always given their factual member ID number. I don't know what other forums were started after we joined their ranks so I don't know if the math would be accurate.

Keeping this separate:

Example 1: Twicechosen joined Aug 2012, member 44985. Subtract 20606 means he is RSW member# 24379 EXCEPT if the forum owners integrated other forums subsequent to integrating RSW then the math is wrong. That's why I haven't altered member ID numbers for newer members.

Example 2: I finally joined in Jan 2005 and member number today is 26103. Subtract 20606 and my original RSW member number was probably 5497 and that sound about right but I can't remember for sure. In any event the math seems to work pretty close using this method for earlier member numbers.

Example 3: MDFDWarrior joined Aug 2003 and member number today is 22675. Subtract 20606 and his original member number was 2069. I found this thread where my post shows a paste of some data where his member number was actually 2081. That means using this calc his member number is only off by 12. That's close.
