Default What Should I Add when getting recall done?

I have an 02 warrior that has not had any recall work done. I am looking into HC Pistons and new 5th gear. I have serched and read hundreds of post but am still unsure. My dealer only wants to install parts that they can get. So, are the speedstar HC pistons worth the money and will it be a simple swap out or will I need additional parts also. Any information and suggestions would be great.

HC pistons, cams, springs, pushrods, lifters, 5th gear, and ummmmm....... yeah, that should just about do it. That's what I would've done to mine if I had a recall on it.

A good ride is one from which you can walk away. A great ride is one after which you can use the bike again.

If they refuse, go elsewhere... surely someone on here will be able to tell you who will accomodate you!

Check with Patrick Racing or Orient Express for their big bore kits. Whatever you do, I'd say the 5th gear swap is a must. Have fun!!

you're lucky. free upgrades. when i bought mine, used, i didn't know about the recall till i read about it here. i went out and looked for the "stamp" and it wasn't there and i thought "EXCELLENT" but when i called about it, they said it had been done. i even called yamaha corp. what a letdown. now i have to do it the old fashion way. actually pay for the whole thing.

My dealer wanted $1200 just to open it up and put it back together.

1) RoadStar 5th Gear
2) High Compression Pistons
3) HD Valve Springs
3) HP Camshaft.
4) Ported rear exhaust manifold
5) Ported Heads

This is w/o going big bore.

The 5th gear swap is listed first as this the ONLY oppurtunity to get it done for free labor. (I didn't do it on mine and everytime I get on the highway, regret it).[]

Good Luck!
