    Hi Dave: I printed your directions and headed off into the garage yesterday. I cut open the spare waterheater i had aquired and began to do my thing. I have shortened it by 6". By the best of your recollection, how much did you shorten yours? How much additional clearance did that give you for saddle bags? I have nelson rigs silver series bags and they are pretty big bags. I am thinking that my mustang saddle will help, it is about 3 inches thick. I have not yet put it on my bike but I am anxious to do so.

    Listened to the sound of your water heater mod.
    The sound is awsome.
    Can you pass on any tips on what I need to do to mine to get that sound?
