I like my Yamaha mini fairing. This AM I decided to try a scientific test. At 70 MPH, I put my hand out above the fairing & was surprised at how high it seemed to be directing the air over me. I'm 5' 7" & most of the wind is off my chest and head. A shorter rider will have an advantage.
I rode my Warrior from Virgina Beach to South Dakota - almost 1500 miles. Mostly
in the rain & over the posted speed limits. Eastern SD has lots of wind & few curvy roads, mostly relatively long straight roads. I find that in a strong head wind, especially when I'm "playing drag racer" *cough 100+ cough* it helps to tuck down behind the fairing much like a sport biker would do. Like you, I often travel over the posted maximum speed limit of 75 and have little complaints. Other than having to watch out for LEOs.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you want me to pontificate further.
