    Hi LD,

I'm in the process for putting together a muffler just like you have. I have the same parts.

My is: How did you reconcile the differences between the diameter of the muffler and the exhaust shield? The muffler pipe has a diameter of 2.89" and the shield is 2.73".

Mike: You appear to have a plethora of knowledge re: Warriors. I found your response to my mystery knob question last month. I like your "U.S. Army history and now a teacher. Kudos. To dispel the m/c novice inference by some of the others on this site my first m/c was a 62 Triumph Bonneville. But I digress, my question is this: getting belt noise. too dry? lube or no lube. I have 1/3 mile gravel to pavement from my house. A little dusty but I don't drive it real fast & stir it up. Any help/advice re: belt noise greatly appreciated. It is still an O4 Warrior with about 10K miles.

Looking at your mods, I noticed that your bars seem to have a lot of pullback, what kind of bars are they, and how much rise and pullback do they have?

Here is how to measure bars (rise, pullback, width). It also has some bars listed, and a link to pictures of bars (some are broken threads though)

This got a lot of traction, and there's some great advice in it. Taking the front axle off really only takes about 10 minutes.
