You haven't seen this crazy look Alan gets in his eye....I almost whimpered once when I saw it!!
And Alan...you'll be glad to know they are 45MM long so you're getting 3/4" into the frame past the spacer. (But I do have my bolt company sourcing the 50MM's right now
)
This does concern me to a point, as the previous bolts were not putting enough thread into the frame, however I double checked the short spacer and it was 3/4"...so, you effectively had 1 1/4" to go through with a 1 3/4" bolt. 1/2" into the frame...enough to be "okay" but not enough to be "more than enough" in my perception.
So, the 45MM are now going only through the 1" below the counterbore, thus giving 3/4" of thread into the frame...which should be just right!!
***ADDED after Marco's post....
Previous forward control spacers were 3/4" thick, plus a 1/2" plate...totalling 1 1/4". The bolts which were shipped with these were 45MM long, or approximately 1 3/4". This allowed 1/2" into the frame, which is very common across the board for forward controls.
The NEW spacer which some of you have acquired from me has only 1" spacing between the frame and the bottom of the head of the bolt...this means you are now getting 3/4" into the frame.
Hope that clarifies things for those of you who don't have the new spacers and were wondering what the heck I was rattling on about!
