    Lucky!

Some buddies of mine and I decided to do a ride this morning.  Going down a route that we were all very familiar with and stopping for a burger at the Sugar Shack.  I've ridden to the Shack several times and never had any issues, even though it has a gravel parking lot.  Well today for whatever reason, when I pulled in my back tire went out from under me.  I laid down the bike and slid about 5-10 feet with it on top of my left leg still.  Once I got the bike up, with the help of my buddies, took a look at it and not even a scratch on the bike.  Only thing that happened to me is I bruised my foot where the bike laid on it, ripped up my gloves and got a few scratches on my knee.  After lunch, got back on the bike and continued our ride into Sturgis.  So I would have to say that I am very lucky that it didn't go worse.

I hit a small patch of loose gravel on the pavemnet while leaning into a curve. The back wheel started to slide and I stuck my left leg out to catch the bike. I caught the bike, but hyperextended my left knee. Took several months of excersize for a complete healing. I agree with the gravel sucks comment.

did the same thing except the front tire washed out turning down my street. There was a fine layer of gravel (more like sand) as I turned and I saved it but could barely walk for about a week. I bruised the bottom of my left foot and wrenched my back.

Glad your safe and the bike is none worse for the wear

Glad to hear you and the bike were ok, but I don't think I could have stayed there for lunch. I would have felt like a tard if anyone seen that, plus I would have needed to change my pants because I would have crapped myself in fear of damage to the bike. Wink

Thats why I love this forum. Riding with gloves on. Safe riders !

Good job, on yourself and your devine intervention that God didn't want that beautiful bike damaged.  Lightning

Gone. Too much editing. Baby about it, yes. I would like to have real discussions. If I want to have things not reported/discussed\deleted I would watch main stream media. This was one of my alternatives. Later all.
