I know the alpine loop, ive done it a few times its a pretty sweet ride. I know it from the provo to alpine way although i dont think it wouldbe hard to figure out the alpine to provo way. Im down for going, but i have work at 12 noon. If sunday morning is difficult for everyone what about an evening ride at like 5 or 6pm?

    Re: Utah riders

Hey guys, my name is Mike and I ride a stock '04. I live in Orem and would like to ride the Alpine Loop tomorrow morning. I ride the Alpine loop several times every summer, so I am somewhat familiar with it. It is a slower ride, especially if there is traffic, but really good views. It is as challenging as you want it to be. Would you just like to do the loop, or there is a pretty cool ride from about the halfway point in the loop that takes you to Cascade Springs. The road out there is a little more "high speed" and has some fun twisties. Cascade springs is a pretty cool place to stop for a break...

I went over the loop about 3 weeks ago in the evening (about 6:00) and it was pretty chilly. I would suggest dressing warm.

Let me know if you want to go, when and where to meet. Do you guys want to start in Provo Canyon or Alpine? The Provo side is serious (slow) switchbacks, where the alpine side is faster with less twisties. It is a state park, so there is a fee ($2-3.00??). If you tell them you are riding straight through with no stopping, they will let you through without paying. If a ranger sees you stopped, and you don't have a recipt they will fine you.

    Thanks, Mike

    Re: Utah riders

For the Alpine loop ride, lets meet up at Fat Cats at 9 A.M.tomorrow moring! We can then decide which way to go around the loop...

I'll see you there, and see who else you can get to go. It would be cool to wake up every person up the canyon who thought they could sleep in late on a nice sunday morning Smile.
