Sharp,
You'd have had fun. The sole Warrior was waterfordwarrior and we only had the briefest chance to talk.
A wide range of skill sets and different bikes there. Busas to baggers and total newbs to experienced racers. In fact, a bagger won the elimination.
Local inde shop owner named Dave Cox running a 124" beast and a 11.20 dial in. His last 4 runs were: 11.21, 11.22, 11.22, 11.24 and he was making it look easy.
Saw several 120s and 124s and they're something to see when well-ridden. I lost 5 out of more than 20 races: one to a 120, one to a 124, one to a drag bike, one to a sled and the elim.
When I raced the 120, I hole- shot him pretty good and was well-ahead into third. Thought I had it in the bag as I'd never been caught that late in a race - well, that guy passed me running STRONG and I could see exactly what an extra 22 cubes do! Later found out he's dynoed 140/150. Running a Wood cam with .750 lift and built by a very experienced shop! Street-driven and looking pretty plain-jane -- but a 10-second bike!
Ditto the 124 - we left about the same, with him slightly ahead... and then he started pulling away. I was hooked up and pulling hard, but my little 98" was outclassed.
The sled was a trip! A screaming two-stroke that ran low 10 second passes. He smoked everyone and it wasn't even a race. The light went green and he was gone. Done. Game over. Never saw anything like it!
Anyway - I'll post something when they'll be at it again. You'd have spanked your share and met some good folks.
