Good summary. I will be testing one of these pretty soon as I had to get rid of the decompression solenoid on a current bike build. I will need all the CCA I can get! [:D]

Maybe you can also include the links to those install threads that Churchkey & Co wrote.

Looks like the SVR 14 is still the best combination of size and CCAs although it is heavy. Thanks for posting this

Now there is some good research that I won't have to do. I'm going to copy and paste it to a Word document then save it for future needs.

I like the CCA of the Enersys ODYSSEY PC680 but I wonder if the height would be a problem getting the seat down to lock position.
Here's a link with a better price for the SVR14.>

I actually just ordered the PC545. It's the next model down from the 680.

I'm still running the OEM battery since 02. Winter & the numerous start/stops of a engine mod finally got it. So, I just bought a Power Sonic replacement battery from the folks at   http://www.batterystuff.com/

I've not seen it mentioned anywhere on the forum. But, we use them in all kinds of equipment here at work. I hope it gives good service.

For what it's worth, Power Sonic recently got an endorsement from Yamaha. Take a look...

Between your expierence, the info they supplied on their website, and the price. I decided to give it a shot, thanks for the info.

    Re: Warrior Battery Choices

    Great post,
Just wanted to offer another alternative battery choice.

    Attributes:
    # of Volts:12 Volt
    Cranking Amps @ 32 deg F.:232
    Dimensions:L - 6" x W - 3 7/16" x H - 5 3/4"

    http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=PSB&PartNumber=14BS&Description=Battery+-+NAPA+Power+Sport+-+Specialty

It's a tight fit, but after heating up the plastic battery box with a hair dryer (as is suggested for the SVR-14) it slid right in. I also had to redrill the positive battery lead for the terminal bolt to line up. 235cca and I picked it up for $63.00...

    Edited to list specs..

That's 11/16" wider - how do you remove the battery from the box after its been there a couple months, or years!!!
