    Bell Drifter Combat??

Anyone have this helmet? How do you like it ? How does it fit?How thick is the padding inside? Also does it look like a mushroom on your head??

LOL!! Yeah , shorty helmets like this are not that flattering on me, but it looks different enough to give it a shot.

I wish this topic was posted last week - I had ordered one online and ended up returning it. The padding was really minimal, but suprisingly the comfort level was ok, I'd give it a 7/10. It didn't feel right so I just returned it.

A word of advice, this helmet looks good in pictures but you should get it in your hands and on your head. I don't know about the rest of the country, but ALL of the local "authorized dealers" refuse to stock any Bell helmets in their stores. It seems that Bell now sells certain models direct to consumers at Pep Boys and China-Mart (er...I mean Wal-Mart) and the local shops don't like the competition...

Ive got the black one and I love it. It fits nice and looks even better without the ear flaps on. It doesn't look like a mushroom, it looks like a modified combat helmet, original.

I've got a matte black one, I love it cruising in town. I rarely wear it on the highway though as I almost always wear a full face on the highways so can't really comment much on highway use. It is comfortable and looks decent too. I have only used the earflaps a couple times and prefer it without them. Overall I really like it for a shorty helmet.

I have the helmet in matte black. The padding I thought was very subsstantial (similar to what's in my full face. I don't wear mine any more because I have switched to a full face all the time, but up to that point I enjoyed wearing the helmut.

Does the canvas come off? I kinda like the look of just a black kelvar kinda look.  What is that DOT thing made out of..... meaning can you take it off?

My buddy has that helmet.  He likes it and it looks good on him.  I would want to see myself in a mirror first with any helmet, plus sizes are different from make to make, model to model.

+1, I have a big pumpkin and the only helmet fitting perfectly for me was the Head Trip. I will never ride with another helmet... This baby feels great and does not rip your head of your shoulders at high speeds. Not to mention that is ultra small for a DOT, no more mushroom looks.

Randy, that helmet will make you look like a used Q-tip (brown and nasty).  Stick to the full face until they get all the road work competed around here (in about 2010).  I'm betting that some fresh asphalt pebbles would make you regret that helmet quick.

I know the voices aren't real, but they do have some good ideas.

I wear a bandana on my face all the time for added protection.  I like the visability of an open face.  Unless the rocks are HUGE, the bandana should be good.
