Default New Belt - is it right one?

I have on my bike currently a Gates belt I bought some years ago -

BDL PC - 130 - 118 212A

I saw a Harley belt, brand new, 130 - 118 so I bought it cheap, now its here, the code on it actually says

BDL PCC - 130 - 118 128F

I don't know what these codes mean or if neither of them is the right one - I'm having trouble getting to the bottom of it, I just thought if its 130 - 118 its near enough, they all look the same to me! I just hope its safe - any ideas, advice, comments?

Exclamation The Belt is Fine

The PC designator is a Polymer belt only and what I have on my ride. The PCC designator is a stronger belt - Polymer & Carbon

I suspect the 4-trailing #'s are a date stamp or batch # ? Mine is 137V
Suggest you send an email to them for this info

Here's a link: Belt Drives, LTD.
  • BDL = Belt Drives, LTD
  • PCC = Mfg'd by Gates Rubber with polyurethane with carbon cord

My current Belt
Belt Drives Ltd - Mfg by Gates _ 1-1/2" wide - 14mm pitch - 130 teeth

Thats quite reassuring, thanks Alan, I measure the pitch at 14mm and it seems to be about the same length as my old snapped one - so its all looking quite good, Bargain even!

I was used BDL PC-130-118 too, but very short time(had undiagnosed CPS problem).

Before installing I had visual compared new origial belt with BDL PC-130-118. It was almoust the same but exept color. BDL was more bright color

Uh oh! I busted one when a stone got hooked into it falling off in snow -

the one on there now has done about 40+k, and twangs a bit sometimes, so I assume its stretched!

I think this belt and original are the same but with different marks.
