get them powdercoated the same color red as the other trim and wheels and keep them

Do the shields help reduce any heat on your leg? If they have any actual function, keep them they look cool.
If they serve no purpose other than looks, then they are just additional weight on the bike, ditch them. Either way the bike looks cool.

the jury is still out but i'm thinking either get them powdercoated black or red to match the red accents. they are strictly cosmetic, but they dont weigh much:-)

I'm surprised that I like the accent, I think its the way your bike is set-up that invites the splash of subtle chrome on the black.

Man, your bike looks awesome with or without but I say "shields on" 'cos they really give a good accent to the pipes as others have said.

I think the shields are subtle enough to not draw your eyes away from the bike as a whole and are quite sexy.

I vote keep them.
