Hello, I bought a 2006 black warrior last week, I am thrilled to have found this forum. Can anyone direct me to any history or wiki of the xv1700? Are there any good places to find difference s in different model years?

welcome and remember eh search function is your friend. also check out the gremlin link in my signature block.
In general the Warrior was produced from 2002 to 2010 however the 2010 model was not available in the US. The 2002 and 2003 models have a 2 up one piece seat whereas the 2004 up models have a two piece seat with a solo seat and a passenger pad. In 2006 they made some changes to the front brakes and they also reinforced the front pulley shaft system but other than this the warrior stayed basically the same in all years. the tins remained the same in all years except that the holes for the rear seat mounting loop is in a different location in 2002 and 2003

Awesome, I'm over that way all the time. Maybe we can meet up some time!
I don't get out on my bike much these days though!
