Default when items are sold, can they be moved to new place

Not sure if its me, or because I dont spend much time on site, but when I am looking at articles for sale, its hard tell if they are still for sale or not,
and waste time chasing after something that is already gone
Is there a way to set it up so that items for sale only stay up for a short time unless the seller updates the post ?

Any other helpful tips on looking for items ?
thanks

The seller of the item can return to the original post and mark the item sold.

What Jabo said. It's all on the seller to keep his/her topic updated. It's a free system, you get what you pay for.
