Thanks for all the suggestions on tires! I will probably be going with the Avon Storms Ultra 2. I found them on a couple sites and it looks like only about $315 for both tires with free shipping. If anyone finds them cheaper please let me know i have been looking. I will probably be ordering them here in a week or so. Thanks everyone!

There must be a big demand for them since the price is going up. That's what www.swmototires.com are charging online so call them back and see if you can talk them down. Say you're on RSWarrior and mention this thread and I'll be amazed if they don't come down a little more. Worth a try:}
Or, I've been recently reading about the Michelin Pilot Road 2s which have great reviews too and are now cheaper than Storms. Try those and post a review so I'll know what tires to go to next:}:D

Quick summary:
If a cheap deal...Roadsmarts (I was very unimpressed)
Excellent and long lasting tires..... Storm 2 (mine now)
Maybe as good..... Michelin Road/power 2
Often best place to order www.swmototires.com tell them you're from RSWarrior....
+1 I tried to get the Michelin Road/power 2's but nobody at the time had the front tire in stock. I went with the Avon Storm 2's and couldn't be happier.

When you DO decide to go FAT.....I suggest the DIY 240 for under a grand....search the site for the DIY 240....plenty of info out there.

Hi everyone i am new to the site and i have looked at this site a few times since i bought my 2004 Warrior just this last spring. I went from a 1997 Suzuki GSXR 750 to the Warrior and i couldn't be happier!! Now i just cant wait to ride again! (I live in Minnesota so i cant now.) I got the bike with the original tires on it and i have notice that the front tire is getting cracks in between the groves and that really makes me uncomfortable riding with it like that. So i need to get new tires and i wanted to do that sometime soon so i can put them on right in the spring. does anyone have any suggestions of what tires i should get. I do a lot of highway riding considering i commute is 54 miles to work and 40 of them are highway. Thanks

For the money & wear, Avons are amazing. I'm on my 3rd set of Avons, Least wear was with the AV45 & AV46, 12.8K miles. The set of AV55 & AV56 gave me 21K miles. I don't ride easy. I've gone thru 2 sets of Bridgstones right at 8K miles each set, 2 sets of Dunlops right at 7K miles. The Avons have another kink & that is they don't lose air! 3 sets of Avons & I've had to put air in once or twice a year! I know it doesn't make sense but who cares? I have about 12.8K on my latest set, mostly commute miles, so I have squared off the rear pretty well by now. I have 88600 miles on my '02. Never loosened a bolt on the thing, out side of oil changes & tire changes, & plugs. It's an amazing ride.

as you can tell, Avon Storm 2's is the best tire. i got them off recommendation and i LOVE them. Wet...dry...straight line..dragging the frame..they are the best tires i have riden on yet. and the mileage seems amazing as well!
i highly recommend them.
