Not too impressed. Its definitely no Warrior contender. The rake and standard front forks wont make this a handling wonder. I will stick with my Warrior and keep waiting for the New VMax.

Whoever is running Yamaha USA's demographics group needs to be fired, yesterday.

 

looks kind of cluttered and gaudy to be called "chopper-inspired", but hey after removing 30 pounds of unnecessary factory equipment it might not look half bad.

 

I really like it. It's got lots of potential. Remember, the warrior didn't come with real good looking pipes either. Change the pipes, seat, and a few other things and you got one fast (will beat a stock warrior I think from stop light to stop light) bike!
I can't even think about getting one I am so deep into my warrior!

 

Exhaust reminds me of the "goofy" first gen speed star twin pipes.
The red color and flames looks good the blue looks like a HD XL color.
Just not a whole lot to excited about this year.

 

Watched the video, 124 Ft Lbs...now THAT is not shabby.
They did confirm on the video however, that the design of the exhaust was done-up at a San Fran gay bar.
But at the very end of the video, they make a curious statement........"The world's first modern performance cruiser."

 

It's not a bad bike... not one for me, but not a bad bike. I like that it is a bike that fits into a niche that Yamaha doesn't already have. But where is the new VMax???

At the crank, which comes to about 145 at the wheel.

 

Seat has GOT to be more comfortable than the warriors

 

I think the Raider is pretty kewl.....pretty kewl for spare parts for the Warrior anyways! I wonder if those side covers and wheels will fit the Warrior? Notice they put a bezel on the headlight similar in shape to the VTX? Also they started to hide the wires in the neck frame like they should have done to the Warrior....at leadt they put a 113" on it. Now we gotta worry about that ugly ass bike outrunning our slowly outdated Warriors....

Don't like it, looks like two different cruisers, cut at the middle, then welded together. The HD Rocker looks better IMHO

I agree...should have put the 113 in the Warrior did some of the other things to it that they did with the Raider.

I actually like it. Except for the usual exhaust which does not match the bike.
