Just received an altenator cover and want to know if it is diffcult to install ,anything I should know ... Thanks

if it's the one on the right side you taking about you wil have to remove the cover (102) an the center cover have bolt by the inside 10 mins to do it

If it is really an alternator cover (not to be confused with the starter cover) it's located at the right front of the lower engine, behind the front exhaust pipe. It looks like you have to remove the front exhaust pipe to get it off.

You'll need to remove timing cover on left side of bike as shown in photos. The alternator cover is held on with two screws only. The others are faux.

yamaha has that listed as a timing cover and timing insert cover.

That looks like mine. [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

Thats not the alternator cover. That is the timing cover. And a heck of a lot easier to change
