Hey guys,
Just bought an 02 Warrior ...mods include a Barons big air kit, a Power Commander and V&H pipes...my question is about the Power Commander..I looked on the website and really didnt see what I was looking for, my idle is around 900-950, and I'd really like to drop that down to around 700-750. And as for tuning, do i hook it up to a laptop for the maps. Is there a program that i need as well, the guy who sold it to me failed to disclose this info, or maybe he forgot. Other than that, this mf'er rawks !!!

There is a knob under the seat that controls idle. I wouldnt mess with the map for that reason. Welcome to the forum.

why would you want to drop your idle that low? mine for some reason what that low at one point and found the bike stalling on occasion, or a bit more difficult to start sometimes...

From my understanding you do not want to idle this thing that low, it will lack the proper oil pressure at idle..........low oil pressure of course is not a good thing. Most guys have the idle right where yours is.

It is highly recommended to NOT drop the idle that low. First off the bike will tend to stall a lot easier and the required minimum oil pressure will not be reached. If you drop the idle too low you can cause damage to the engine in the long run.

I have an 02 and I run mine around where yours is now. Any lower it stalls out. It will stall when you are at an area where you don`t want it to stall. he he. Congrats and Welcome to the Forum.

hmm, ok, my bad..i was under the impression 750 range was closer to normal than 950..guess i am used to the Road Star cruiser sound than a Warriors'. I'll keep it up ...thanks for all the input.
