Just picked up an '05 Warrior last weekend. Something I had been drooling over for about two years and seriously looking at for at least one year. It has virtually no mod's, I really wanted an inexpensive Warrior to use as a platform for a full-blown redo, from the front forks to the rear fender. I ran into a guy named Jason last weekend who turned me on to this site. Looking forward to participating. So, then, first question, do I do a 240, 260 or a 280 rear wheel? What's the difference?

Hey David! glad to have met you at strokers. here is the Dallas/Ft Worth forum i mentioned to you alsohttp://rswarrior.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=29271

as for your question, guess it depends on what you are after. they all look good to me, but the fatter you go the worse the handling(ie.cornering) but the better the looks. if you like to ride hard i would reccomend a 240 or 250. 260 and up look killer but believe you need new fenders if you want to lower the bike.

Dberman,

First off...WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!

Now to give you my opinion on what rear tire kit to go with...I'd recommend either the 240 or 250 rear tire kit.

I have a 240 on my Warrior...Once I wear that tire out, I'm going to switch to the 250.

Personally I think the 240 or 250 tire sizes are just right for the Warrior...The 260 is OK, but it is kind of pushing it...The 280 to me is just overkill...

Madman, that's a 240 in your pic? It looks great. Jason, ask Bridget if she wants some of my used V-Star parts. Still have the stock handlebars, cables, grips, two sets of mirrors, slant saddlebags, nuts, bolts, etc. And thanks for the advice on the rear wheel. I think I'll look for a 250. But I'm not so sure I'm up from doing my own grinding and polishing, or looking for old Ford doorhandles. Gotta give it to you though, you are definitely determined and creative.

funny i got the doorhandles off an idea from here, think OHIOMIKE posted them. I am slowly getting rid of my polished stuff in favor of the better looking chrome. Bridget, i am sure would love to see what you got. will PM you with my number. Also one of the local guys is planning a ride this weekend if you are interested.

Dberman,

Yup! That a 240 in my pic...Like I said I'm going to switch to a 250 once that tire wears out. I can fit a 250 without any other mods, but that's it.

People freak out[:0]on how FAT the rear tire is...Even those that have custom-builts with the 300 series tire, thinks my Warrior looks good with the 240.

As one dude told me once..."MAN! THAT BIKE IS OFF THE HOOK!!" [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

Good luck with your ride...And have fun, which I know you will...[/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]
