My Grandfather rode 2 different motorcycles to his after school job in the teens/twenties in Iowa. The first one he bougt new from Sears or Montgomery Wards. He stated it to be manufactured my THOR motorbikes, said it bc was fairly small displacement and can equipped with white colored tyres. The bc second one was a 1919 Harley that he bought second hand from a classmate. My grandad declared it to be a “better bike” with increased power and rideability. I remain fascinated by Montgomery Wardsvv bc and bc Sears sold bikes. There was a nice 1950s Wards bike featured in a recent issue of Clzz a lassis Bike mag
