I ordered the Barnett clutch plate and pressure plate kits, they should be delivered tomorrow. I wanted to ask the opinion of those who have done the upgrade if I should get a new clutch cable or not? It seems fine but it was made for the stock pressure plate and its now 16 years old. I don't want to be creating a point of failure. Thanks.

I used a stock clutch cable, which was wrote off and man who gafted it to me told that it would tear soon. After this I used it 35 thousand kilometers complete with BPP with green springs set:

Check its color))) And it worked great.

I'd suggest you cancel the Barnett 306-90-10084 - Clutch Plate Kit and purchase the OEM Yamaha Kit from Partzilla: CLUTCH PLATE KIT as it will cost less $'s and is up to the task. You can toss the parts that aren't used and still be ahead of the game. The Factory friction is preferred on this site and always has been.
Else, do a tear down and inspect the parts then order what's required :)
