I didnt cut any off of my BARS. Had to cut the wires and add leads onto them. * just a hint, when you cut your wires and add leads, stagger your solders so they are not all in the same place and doesnt cause an area too thick to fit through the bars. Just finishes mine this past weekend LOVE THEM!! Let me know if i can be of anymore help.

Staggering the solder joints is ESSENTIAL to ensuring a nice fit. As you may have found, the cavity for the wires is quite narrow. I didn't remove any length off the bars, but will be adding weights to them soon!

just finished my rad bars last night, a couple of notes:

the dental floss / vaccuum trick worked fine for me
i found it easiers to pull all the original wires thru the bars 1st then solder the extensions on
do not rush, i started this mod sat night, i had to undo everything once because i was rushing and had a short in the bar

I installed my bars this weekend following a combination of redhorse and darkstar's directions. They worked great, no shorts but I learned how to solder and solder and resolder. The only thing I'm not sure about is that I have excessive vibration. I installed the ISO grips at the same time as the bars. The vibration is so bad that my throttle hand goes numb. Any ideas?

sorry about the caps! i will do better. i finished the job, but couldn't pull the wires in at the top of the bars. be sure not to put you connections together so that you will not run into the same problems. i gathered them as much as possible ans covered them with conduit. looks ok, but not optimal!!!

My stock bars had a washer above and below the rubbers in the tree. When I installed the bars, I just reused the washers. I nomally cruise in the 2500 to 3500 range with no vibrations. By the way, I must be a retard because I'm a mechanic by trade and I couldn't get the floss thing to work. I ended up using safe-T wire and pulling the wires through two at a time. It took me eight hours to wire the whole thing up correctly. Not to mention the fact that I got my local electrical outlet guy pissed at me when I berrated him about not having eleven different color 20 gauge wire.
