you can fit a 260 tire under the fender Let be honest a 260 metzler 880 series tire. The Barons swingarm weights 4 times what the cycleimage/performanceedge.us swingarm does(mind you its only about 20lbs regardless). When i got my 280 swingarm from CI i was shocked how light it was.. Felt like plastic. As for being a bad mod no its a great mod and lots of people have done it. As for the 260 tire fitting yes it will because its smaller accross than the 250 dunlop and that fits

 

Not sure, I want to hear it weighs four times as much as a modified swing arm. [/emoticons/emotion-4.gif] Now with this weight do I gain strength? I am being offered the Baron's Swing Arm from another member, for a good price and was trying to decide which way I should go. I could go with CI or PE and get a modified arm, but I though this one would give me a little more of a custom look.

Thoughts?

Yes I have a Barons arm and the 250 tire fits in the swingarm and it is wider then a 260 tire, Tire will not fit in a lowered bike.

 

AS far as your tire fitting, it all depends on how much you are lowered. My Avon 250 (skinnier than the dunlop or 260) fit with tricky air ride and very minor massaging of the under fender support. The width should fit but the height may be an issue. As far as it weighing more. yes it weighs more...4x not sure it's that much. Also If you ever want to put a chain on it w/ TAR the stock modified arm will most likely rub. With my stock arm the belt ever so slightly touched with the TAR.

 

so if you have a lowered bike, a 240 would be a better option? want to slam mine with tricky/equivalent air ride system with no mods other than swingarm.......

 

either use the 240 or the avon 250. There is a support underneath the fender that you can basically take out, set on the ground, hit it with a hammer a few times to widen it out. Then squeeze it back in and you should be good for the avon 250.

There is also an advantage of the Barons swingarm: Its CroMo Steel and easier to work with than the stock one if you want to make further changes. It is also a lot stronger than some modified stock ones. I have it on two of my bikes and bought it for modification purposes.

 

Great information, I just need to see how much my rims are going to cost before I can say if I have enough $$$ to go this route.

Maybe I should return my kids x-mas gifts and get whatever I want. HEHE j/k I think the four of them could take me if they worked together.

I almost bought one until a friend of mine discovered 2 of his weren't straight. As with anything there's always a possibility of getting a bad one. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up.

 

Coming from someone that has neither, I like the Barons if you're going the full on custom route. IMO, that thing just looks awesome.
