My tape measure says 1 1/4"

 

Yep, 1 1/4 it is. I have looked at that link with different belts the other day but could not find a 128 teeth in 1 1/4 width.
Also do those aftermarket belts have a hp rating?

 

I found one that I purchased, it is 1 1/8" which has a high horsepower rating, so I shall see how much it differes than the warrior belt.

 

Yeah I measured 1 1/4 also. Can you run the smaller belt?

Bis, the after market one I got is 11/8 and it has avery high hp rating. Works fine, rides a little to the left. My stock one was 11/4

 

where did you get it from?

 

Its a Dayco RPP Panther, sorry no part # but I got it from north county yamaha in escondido

I guess I got a ******* bike cause mine mics out 1 & 1/8 top width with a dial caliper. Maybe the sides are worn after 10K but my rear pulley is .020 narrower than 1&1/4 @ 1.230. Maybe I polished it to much & made it thinner.

Yours isn't ******* Church, for I too have been around a machine shop and I just checked my 2003 same width as you on the belt, but my rear pulley inside width is around 0.008" wider. LOL. It appears some of our members work with tape measures. LOL. Not making fun of anyone here, but in this case a 1.25" belt is too wide. a 1.219 which is 1 and 7/32's would fit if they made one. 1 and 1/8 is the correct replacement for the Warrior. If they had metric sizes I'd say use a 30mm width.

BTW - my bike has 608 miles on it. Yeah, that's all, I know.

How high is very high?

More than the 120-130 that the stock one can take? Or are those numbers already aftermarket?

 

I forgot to mention that my stock 1 and 1/8" wide belt also rides toward the outboard side of the pulley or towards the left in respect to the bike as dtm stated of his.

 

OK I got the panther belt and its exactly the same width as the stock one, but the stock belt feels MUCH stronger to the touch and its all teflon coated. The Panther belt feels much softer andits not coated.

Does anyone know the power rating of the panther?

Dilema, go with the panther or just go with the 31 tooth Pulley and stay with the stock belt???

 

are you sure you got the same panther? mine is definately more narrow than the stock. anyway, when I bought it the guy at the parts desk told me the rating and that it was higher than the stock one but i forgot it.

 

I am sure its the panther... Its the same width, but I find it hard to believe the rating is higher than the stock. The stock is pretty dorn strong. Also the teeth are taller and coated. This one feels like its a softer compound.
