I know that theres a post about this somewhere but I'm not having any luck searching... Just thought I'd ask for some input. I live on a very short "street", some of it (about 30-40 yds.) is gravel.[/emoticons/emotion-6.gif] Do you think it'd be safe for me to remove the guards or no? What kind of damage could I do at very slow... poking-slow speeds? TIA...

This has been covered exhaustively, just do a search for the title of your post.

Long story short: Remove the lower + gravel road = destroyed belt (potentialy).

You will get better search results if you spell "guard" right. [/emoticons/emotion-1.gif]

id rather leave them both on, then just remove the top one.... the lower is the uglier of the two....

Buy a spare belt - and go without and see how you do. If you are careful on the gravel and drive slowly, I doubt you'll have a problem. I agree - those beltguards are UGLY! 2cents...

I've recently removed my lower belt guard myself. This issue falls in the same category as removal of the fork guards. There is a danger of damage, but if you think it's worth it to take it off, then go for it, just know there is potential for damage.
