Thinking about getting rid of that dumb white "gasoline is flammable" sticker from my tank. I'm sure many of you have done this already, I'd like to hear what the easiest and best way to do it is.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Warm up just about any sticker with a hair drier or a heat gun and it will come up more easily. If you have to, use an old credit card, or one of those cards you get weekly in the mail as a scraper. It won't damage the paint like your finger nail can do. A little WD40 will remove the glue, and a little Windex will remove the WD 40. While you are at it, get the hokey one of the rear fender, and right side swingarm too.

I am not real fond of the soaking method. 99% of paints are resistant to WD40 and other oils, but I would not want to find the paint job that wasn't resistant. Once upon a time, I dropped ONE drop of brake fluid on a front fender, and by the time I picked up a rag to wipe it off, the fluid dissolved a hole into the paint[/emoticons/emotion-6.gif] Not good! Heat will work best, and as long as you can put your hand in front of the heat source, it won't be too hot for the paint. Then you can clean up the adhesive with WD40, and remove the WD40 with glass cleaner.

Mine was a total PITA to get off. First I used the hair dryer. Then the clear plastic top sheet peeled off. Then I new I was hosed. Used WD-40 and let it sit for 5 minutes or so. Still not much luck. I ended up using a credit card to carefully remove the remaining sticker which was not easy. Then I had the sticky glue left. More WD-40 which did no seem to help too much. I finally resorted to paint thiner which seemed to help some what and eventually I got it all off. Why yamaha feels the need to make it so difficult to remove this sticker is beyound me.
