Hey guys,
Finally did it - brought home an '05 Cherry from the dealership tonight. Got it at a very nice price, so I'm ready to spend what I saved on mods.

I've posted on a few non-Warrior topics recently, so now that I actually have one I'm looking forward to really diving into the forums and getting to know some folks.

A little background: I've been living and riding in the Sacramento CA area for about 15 years. I've been roadracing for about nine years - currently on a Yamaha TZ250. Other bikes in the stable include a CBR, A KTM Duke, a Honda Hawk, and a couple of XR's. I like long moonlit walks on the... [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]

I was fortunate to be able to get about 2 hours of seat time on my buddy's identical '05 about a month ago, so I knew what I was getting. I'm all grins so far. I am just really at that stage where I need something that is still fun, but a little less intense. I really got out of riding sportbikes on the street when I started racing, and the KTM is a little too small for riding any more than 200 miles - and definitely not on the highways.

I think you'll find the Warrior somewhat accodating in the fun department compared to your roadracing bikes. It is not the same mind you, but I dont think you'll be dissapointed. Congratulations and welcome aboard.

I'm actually in Roseville, west side over by HP and NEC if you're familiar with the area. I go through Placerville pretty frequently on my ride loops. My buddy lives up near Georgetown, so we usually make a big loop of Wentworth Springs, Ice House, Hwy50, and through Placerville on our way up Hwy49 to go back to Cool/Georgetown.

I'll check out the Sacto and NoCA threads.

Hey Kbracer where in sacto are you? I'm up in Placerville. We got a sacto area thread around here somewhere and a northern california thread.

I spent quite a bit of time lurking the forums leading up to my purchase. Based on what I've learned so far, a Churchkey VBAK, PCIII, and Speedstar pipe are in my near future.

I have seen people reporting mis-aligned clutch cables and such on delivery of their bikes. I noticed this morning that the sensor lead for the clutch inter-lock was not connected. It was actually more of a "what's this connector hanging here on the bar" kind of discovery.

I also believe the belt may be a bit on the snug side, but this is my first belt-drive bike and I'm not sure how it should "feel". It's taught, about no give at all to hand applied pressure. I think I will pickup the proper tool from the dealer to check it.

The Warrior was the only option. I think it might be more truth to say the Warrior picked me than I picked the Warrior. I first saw one at the International Motorcycle Show in san Mateo in 2003 and it just left an impression on me that never went away. I guess I finally matured enough to have one. Wait til the mod bug really hits. In the two months that I've had mine I added a lowering kit, radius bars, ais block, PR BAK, PC3 and a laptop to go with it so I don't have to haul the desktop outside. Waiting on the Holeshot header system to get finished so I can add it to the list. I'm gonna try to wait til Xmas for a 240 kit but probably won't make it that long. The wife thinks I need therapy.
