Good afternoon everyone, I am looking for the dbc file required to read the OBDII Codes from the ECU. Or are the code not broadcast over CAN?

Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about?

I have no idea what you are talking about...but as far as codes go....

1) If the bike has thrown any codes, it will show on the tach either while running or during start up.

2) The codes can be cleared...I believe disconnecting the battery will clear them (someone can confirm).

3) You can put the tach in diag mode by simpy grounding a wire from the harnass. Once in diag mode you can read a lot of differnt info from the bike, as well as change a few things. For more info on this, SEARCH for "ECU Adjust".

Best.

The Warrior's ECU doesn't comply to OBDII regulations and doesn't use CAN protocol. The Warrior uses an open loop system relying on throttle position, intake air temperature, and engine rpm to meter fuel. The codes that can be read through the dash are only error codes concerning hardware and are not really emission related codes.

Well Injekter, the code for 'SNOTTY" is Application Engineer working on ECU Calibration and CAN tools. [/emoticons/emotion-5.gif] It's a habit to look for new ways to use the software I support, sorry. I was hoping to use our software to hack the factory ECU strategy.

Thank you BlackStar and Deathdealer, I was looking for CCP or OBD over CAN.

I am not too surprised that the Yamaha ECU does not utilize a MCP555, most of my motorcycle customers are still using 16bit micros like the Star12 or ST10, but they are built with CAN transceivers.

GM or "other"...

Sorry, I'm a GM freak.

the world wide automotive industry adopted the 2.5V CAN-Bus system a few years back using similar wiring codes and failure codes. Looking at the Yamaha wiring schematic I don't see the CAN-Bus common wires, green wire cc964 (low CAN) and yellow wire cc965 (hi CAN).

The "old" controller communication system was the CCD link but the Yamaha tech. manual leaves a lot to be desired as to tracing wiring or finding wire circuit numbers; but it doesn't seem to be the CAN-bus sytem.
