Some of you may remember that I had a severe chirping noise on acceleration after my recall work was done last year. After 2 trips to different shops, I trailered the bike to Ft. Myers to a shop called C&W Cycle Works. They are a performance drag racing shop that specialize in high end work on all types of bikes and have two 'shop bikes' that the mechanics own and race in the Pro-Stock and Pro-Mod categories.
Side note...they had a bike there that was pulling over 425HP. Crazy.
Anyway, they have had my bike since last Wednesday and called today to let me know that they believe they have found what was causing the chirping noise in the upper part of the motor. When the PR Airkit was installed, the mechanic believes that they modified or somehow damaged the throttle body shaft seals. My TB's read on the meter as in sync, but when you look at them physically, one is visibly open and the other is completely shut at idle. The rear body was reading the air leak and compensating by closing.
Not sure how they could have damaged the seals during the recall or while they were putting the air kit on. Anyone else have experience with tearing down the throttle bodies?
