Not sure if the following has been disclosed previously by anyone:
The ROAD STAR Timing Cover is the same part number as the Warrior (OEM 5PX-15423-00-00, Crankcase Cover 1) and is available new from the Yamaha Accessories catalog in chrome STR-4WM59-20-00.
http://www.motorsportssuperstore.com/catalog_product_detail.asp?sid=02373926X1K22K2005J3I38I31JPMQ808R0&CatalogCode=1581&LevelCode=4197&PartHeaderNumber=143662&ManufacturerCode=2&ProductCategoryCode=&CatalogTypeCode=&Second=

I recently purchased this part on an exchange basis from one of our site sponsors at a significantly higher cost.
Hoping that others will benefit from this posting.

I remember looking at that on your bike one morning in the redwoods and since I hadn't seen the part in the catalog I assumed you hand-stripped it and had it chromed. I'm anxious for my order to arrive, I already have the center alt/gen cover so I'm ready to do this. There's no gasket behind that, right?

Is the "inner cover" listed as the alternator cover on the star website? What's a good source for buying these parts or does everyone buy from Yamaha?
