Cobra Pipe Mod

OK, in this little beach community even the Cobra pipe was too loud. I tried packing with everything but didn't do any good. Finally took out the baffle, cut a slot in the pipe about half way back and slipped a washer in. Now the pipe is just a hair louder than the stock pipe and has the looks of an aftermarket pipe. Best of both worlds, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure the back pressure will will reduce some horsepower and now I can hear the sucking of the BAK again, but worth the price in order to drive where I want to. I suspect the pipe will get a lot hotter in the area before the washer so I may have some problems with bluing. I'll cross that bridge when or if I get there. For those of you old enough to remember the old Honda 305 Scramblers, I'm thinking about a washer type setup that like the old aftermarket setups for the Scramblers, you could turn a adjusting nut that would turn that washer sideways when you wanted noise and the other way when you wanted it quiet.

well trust me it will blue and cobra will blame it on everything but the pipe , there is no warranty no matter what your running , i talked to a rep. and asked if they stood behind there products and he sounded like a commercial , blah blah blah , then he messed up and said heritage and satisfaction and i asked him would he be satisfied with a discolored pipe and didnt sound like a good heritage to have , "cobra home of the blue pipes" no response back yet
