Digital Code From My Odometer?

I was riding the other day and looked at my Odometer and there was a F and started from 0 counting the miles like I reset the trip? So I stopped and hit the Odo button and had the Odo,trip 1,trip 2, and then F and by then I had a few miles on it so it looked like this F 5.6miles. This is the second time this has happened? Does this make any sense?

Never mind, DAA I looked at my manual!!! It is for the Fuel Reserve.

When the fuel light comes on, it starts counting the miles after the light comes on when it says F 35 you better be sitting in the gas station, trust me.

When the bike goes to reserve your supposed to have .8 gallons of fuel left. Time to start looking for a station.

Been there, tried keep going, luckily I ran out right next to a tow truck on the highway, gave the guy a couple bucks for some gas and I was off, what luck!!!! HA!!

I pass the mark one time. The first time I run about 27 miles on reserve but the second time only 17 miles and I have to stop another cyclist who push my bike with his toe in the rear peg of mine until the next gas station. Beware of those "extra reserve miles".

Do the math thing and figure your gas mileage and then figure out how long you can drive with 0.8 gallons. Mine is a little over 30 miles...

My "reserve" isn't so consistent. I have to agree with Penzoil on to beware it and not assume you have XX many miles left when that light comes on. If that light pops on I am thinking of nothing other than refueling.

I'm in the middle of a 1000 + mile trip in CA. I started the trip by running out of gas on I-5 because I wasn't paying close attention. My reserve light came on just as I passed a sign that said "NEXT GAS 27 MILES" I was about a 2 miles away when I ran out. By the time that light comes on, you should already know where you plan to get gas...

i normallly get 130 to 140 miles before the light comes on, and then it'll take almost 3.2 gallons to fill up...i'd say i dont even have 20 miles after the light comes on!

LMAO, yeah that F thing and a light comes on every 100 miles or so on my bike too. Then bike sputters and dies after it reads 18 to 28.9 miles.

Sadly, there's no permanent fix for the F code. You can only hope to keep it at bay with liberal and repeated applications of fuel. [/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]
