Time for a new rear. Has anyone put a wider tire on, and is it even possible? Also needing this tire after only 4200 miles on the original Dunlop. Can anyone recommend a higher mileage tire without sacraficing handling and of course looks.

i don't think you're going to find a wider tire that gets better mileage. a couple guys have tried the metzler me880 in a 210 series, and didn't even get close to what you got on the stock dunlop. riding style is probably the biggest determing factor regarding treadlife. i've logged nearly 7800 miles on the stock bridgestone 020, and it looks like it'll probably make it thru the rest of the summer before a change is necessary

4200 on the original is not too bad. I only got 2800 and the new DUnlop D207 made it only up to 2200 miles (600 of which breakin in of the stage IV kit) [/emoticons/emotion-1.gif]

Before you put on a wider tire (210 is the max on the stock rim) be aware that handling will suffer and you will loose some power.
