Hi,

What if d1:61 is 00 and d62 is 1 and kill switch does not erase it?
I have check engine light on and I am trying to understand why.

As you know DI-61 is a counter with 00 meaning there are no active items in memory. And DI-62 is just a tool to delete old codes from memory.

DI-62 seems to read 00 (no history) for a frakking microsecond. So there are two possibilities here. First, turn handlebar stop switch to on, then go into DI-62. While in 62, which could read 2 for n particular reason, turn handlebar stop switch to off and then to on. It should display 00. I notice that if I circle back into the DI's later it sometimes displays 00 but not always. Never have found a solid reason for it.

If you have an illuminated check engine light then you have a problem whose error code with display in the gauge when you turn the bike off with the handlebar switch. When a CEL trouble is fixed, the light will go out next start.
