Well my warrior is a tad over due for its 1000k or I think 600 mile service. its done 1400km so whats that, 7 or 800 miles? anyway shes going in this Saturday to have it done, no dramas going over is there? Also I gave her a hand full the other day and my mate behind me said it blew some black smoke, it has a pipe on it so I guess its running a bit rich, correct? People talk of adjusting the ECU I take it thats the fuel injection. Can this rectify the problem? if that is indeed what the problem is. Thanx in advance

The ECU adjustment is pretty simple but before I did it I would check the plugs to see if the engine is actually running rich. This bike seems to puff a little black right off the bottom revs when you crank the throttle. I don't know the technical reason for this but it seems like it's an electronic version of an accelerator pump.
I didnt do my 600 mile service until about a 1000 miles as the dealers suggestion. He said things are a little better "breakin" wise by then. You should have no problems though, I didnt and I havent heard of anyone else having any either.
Meatball suggests what I would I do about the black smoke. Check your plugs first. If the ECU has to be adjusted there are some very good instructions out here on how to do it. I can do it now in about 3 minutes. Like Meatball said it is pretty easy, just a little scary (IMO) messing with the ECU the first time. Good luck.
