Let me start by saying this: I used to frequent a Yamaha Grizzly forum, and there was nothing worse than a newb showing up and asking the same questions we had hashed out a 1000 times. We'd collectively yell "USE THE SEARCH". [/emoticons/emotion-6.gif!]

That being said...I decided a month ago that not having a bike for 4 years running now has slowly killed me inside and taken away my manhood. I'm 35 and have ridden since I was 15 on one bike or another. I have always had a hard-on for the VMax since I was a kid, and thought I would finally treat myself to this wonder of 'modern' technology. Until I read more up on it, and realized it doesn't do anything well but toast just about everything from light to light without a ton of mods.

So...back to the drawing board. I looked and I looked and I looked.
Everything out there either is a rocket, a Harley, or it looks like a Harley. If I wanted a Harley..I'd buy one. If I wanted a reliable Harley wanna be, I'd buy a rice grinder ripoff.
I was reaching the end of my rope. Do I go back to the Vmax?

Then one day..I'm on yamaha-motor.com and WHOA!!! What the f()ck is that?!?! [/emoticons/emotion-4.gif] That thing looks bad-a$$!! WTF is a Warrior??

So, like any person who doesn't want to drop $12K without doing some reading, I ventured off to google.com. A good review here, and great review there, a complain here about the rear pegs, rubbing on tight turns, etc. More searches, more days reading...and I find that I KEEP getting hits to this site.
So I joined last night..and I gotta say..it's just like my old Grizzly forum. It's like a brotherhood. And while you'll always get conflicting reports, everyone's out to help each other out.

I'm already giddy. I'm getting my $$ moved around, and WILL be venturing out in the next 3-4 weeks to get this wonder called 'Warrior'.

the more I look, the more I absolutely love this bike. And I gotta admit...some of you cats must sell the 'cheeba' cuz DAMM y'all got some nice f'ing bikes. Some GREAT work fellas.

I haven't even gotten the bike loan yet, and last night alone I think I mentally spent another $10K on it. [/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]

Anyway...my names Fruitjacket (aka Chris), and thought I'd introduce myself. Don't ask....it's a long story.

In regards to my opening statement, I just thought I'd forewarn that I'm SURE I'll ask a 'dumb' question at some point. I am running through the search feature like mad...but in the end, I may just not be able to find exactly what I'm looking for. At that point, I'll put my head on the block...and give you the axe.

Look forward to learning much more about this amazing bike. I will thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge and opinions on this bike.

Thanks!
Fruit

Welcome! You'll definitely enjoy the Warrior!
Don't worry about dumb questions, we all do that. Search what you can but don't be afraid to ask. Sometimes you can search for two hours and then get the answer two minutes after you ask. Again, Welcome!

MIDNIGHT WARRIORS RULES!!

Oh...And welcome to the forums!

Mark aka Mad Man

MadMan. Thanks.
You know, my favorite color by far is black, but the midnight doesn't do much for me stock. Your's however is pretty cool looking. What mods have you done other than the bars?

fruitjacket,

Thanks! She got custom RC Component Chrome Wheels with matching brake discs and pulley. The swing arm been modified to accept a 18-inch rear wheel and a FAT 240mm tire. The bike has been lowered to give her that low, mean Pro-Street look by doing the old flip & grind. She got the intergrated rear tail light, YAMAHA Grips, YAMAHA Double "T" Handle Bars that have been powdercoated black to match the bike. Got the YAMAHA Mini Floor Boards, YAMAHA Shifter Lever & Rear Brake Pedal, YAMAHA Lower Cowl. And for a little performance, a Power Commander III, Barons Big Air Kit and SAMSON Shogun Short Slasher exhaust pipes.

Here in about a week or so, I plan to install a NOS kit to add a little push button horsepower. I also plan to remove the front turn signals and add some 6 degree rake triple trees to drop the front end down a little more.

Welcome to the forum Chris. FYI...if you want to check out anyone's bike and their mods you can click on their name to the left of their post and check out their gallery in their profile. I think most of us have them filled out.

Welcome to the forum let's hear the fruit jacket story long or not some of us have time to burn

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Thumper..it's really one of those stories that is so boring, it's anticlimatic, and therefore, it's never worth explaining...but since you asked....(you got it)

I was in college, trying to sign up for a free email address on hotmail (like 1994). Every single fricking username I came up with kept coming back as 'taken'. The thing that sucked was every time you filled out the form you had to repost all data. name, age, address, username, password, etc, etc. After about 5 failed tries, it got old quick.

So I thought I needed a name that NOBODY would have ANYWHERE ever again. I thought and thought and thought.. and just before class started, this really hot chic walked in, took her jacket off, set it on the back of her chair....and pulled a fruit rollup out of her pocket.

Fruit-Jacket.

since then....never ran into anyone who had it....so I use it for everything.

Told you it was boring. [/emoticons/emotion-2.gif]
