I figured I'd check here since google didn't yield results I wanted... Is anyone familiar with any other full face helmets out there other then the Scorpion EXO-1000 and the HJC that have the flip down tinted inner visor? I think that's a pretty neat idea and would come in pretty handy but the HJC seems really cheap and crappy and the Scorpion with it's silly inflatable cheeks and tons of vents that don't seem to do anything make it weigh a ton and don't appeal to me. Is there another similar option?

Marco, you seem to have some pretty high standards for helmets...so I've did some more research and these seem to fit your needs:

1. This one has bluetooth.

2. This one has the visor your looking for:

3. This one just seems like it would go with your new bike:

4. This one was DOT approved as of last year. Still waiting on this years:

5. But this probably the only one that has all the features you're looking for.

The first one looks used as if it's been strapped on an intergalactic bounty hunter or something.

I've heard the communication on the second one and it got REAL scratchy sounding right after they took that picture. Besides, the tint isn't dark enough.

I'm not sure the third one is DOT approved and road noise may be a problem.

The fourth one has greatventilation it looks like but unfortunately it's a discontinued model from last year.

Now the FIFTH one.... If that one comes in blue and weighs less then 3 pounds I'm all over it! So stylish and sleek... Not bulky at all like the Shark Evoline.

By the way you can get the Boba Fett one (new, not already beat up like the one shown) from this guy here.

that model 210 Can helmet is the uk Viper..! ..i prefer the name Viper! [why do they do that keep swopping stuff around so ya can't recommend it!!? - it's nuts] - i was talking to a client today as i riding home, he didn't realise i was on a bike it was so clear his end!! [must get louder exhaust] - keep well Marco!

i just bought a helmet that has mostly full face characteristics but it's still considered a flip-up/modular and it has the flip down tinted inner visor. it's light, comfortable... and just bada** looking. Check out the Nexx X30. It's the coolest helmet I've ever seen, much less owned. the air ways on it work like a charm too... not to mention quiet! check it out. I bought it for $349.I got the black soft red one, but there are a lot of color choices, and none are annoying.

I was also going to get one of those types of helmets but the more I think about it, how often would I really use that function, I only ride in the daytime and my dark sheild is on all the time, my main concern when getting a full face helmet is ventilation so my next helmet WILL be the shoei rf-1000 I hear ONLY great things about this helmet and you could always do the sunglasses under the clear sheild to get the same effect as what your looking for.

Just something to think about.

I currently use an RF 1000 and I like it but it's not the same. You can't put on and take off sunglasses as you change riding directions or as the mountain road changes directions into and away from the setting or rising sun. I ussually only ride during the day as well but occasionally I'll start off riding while the sun is up but on my return trip home it's dark and the dark smoke tinted visor simply isn't safe (at all) and it's just a hassle to take the extra visor with me to swap them. I've never worn sunglasses when I ride although I know it's common enough, it just seems uncomfortable, cumbersome, and problematic to me. I think they should start adding that feature to practically every new model if nobody can come up with a good solid photochromic visor that actually works well enough. I know some companies probably never will as long asthey stillget$80 each for all the different extra visors customers buy.

The only time I ride when it starts to get dark out is after a bike night, other than that I ride when only the sun is up...but your right they should put that option in more helmets, plus when your paying over 300 bucks for a helmet those little extra things would be nice. The biggest problem I have heard about the sunvisor feature is its either to big or not big enough, check out the helmet review for the shark evoline on youtube, its a nice helmet but I heard it can get hot.

Yeah, he actually PM'd me last week about it but unfortunately an XL is a couple sizes too large for me. Thank you for the heads up though. **** of a price for one that has practically zero use. Someone else PM'd me about another EXO 1000 that was even the blue like I'm considering but it was even larger then the one Ghost is selling.

Yeah, I took a look at the HJC in the store and it just feels real cheap in every way and the internal sun visor doesn't come down enough. I watched that youtube video and it was funny in that respect because he tells you to wear the helmet rotated forward on your head more so that's not a problem if you're not a sportbike rider. lol I'm sorry but if I have options about where I can slide the helmet around on my head then it doesn't fit and shouldn't be there anyway. It's a lighter helmet though then pretty much any of them with that feature which is really nice (most of them are modular are flip up) but the internal visor spring mechanism reminds me of a Pez dispenser for some reason and seems about as durable. For now I'm still just using my Shoei but thanks for the suggestion.

If I recall you have the shoei rf-1000, I was thinking of getting the same helmet, how do there sizes run compared to a HJC? can you tell me any negatives about the helmet? is it worth shelling out 350 bucks for it? I really need a new helmet mines over 5 years old now and I also like the look of the hjc fs-15 carbon and thats also the same price as the shoei.

That's correct, it's an RF-1000 andsome of the main reasons I got it was because it fit well, had a good reputation, and looked good. One huge reason I would reconsider before buying another though is that the liner isn't removable (the cheekpads only). I didn't size myself in the HJC 10 but I agree with you that the FS-15 carbons look really great. Joe Rocket carbon fibers look good as well and if it came with the internal sun visor I'm sure that's what I'd be wearing now (same with the EXO-1000). Anyway, the RF-1000 is a nice straightforward helmet without any special features or gimmicks and it's really well made and comes in lots of colors and graphics with tons of accessories easily available anywhere so the $350 isn't that big of a concern. For me, now, I'm wanting some of these newer features helmets are coming with and would really love to see one soon with removable liner, bluetooth built-in (not just the slot), more colors and graphics then black white silver grey, and the internal sun visor. If I could find me one with all that and it didn't weigh too much I'd pay twice what the RF-1000 cost me.

This is my second one after i had to lay the bike down and I would gladly buy a 3rd.

I've never tried out the EXO-1000 due to the fact that when I was helmet shopping it did not exist. But, I've owned 2 EXO-700 and plan on the 1000 being my third Scorpion. The first 700 was ruined after a nasty accident getting rear ended going down the road by a fellow biker and sliding and slamming into a curb (my head + helmet). Saved my skull and did not crack the helmet, though it was impacted so hard that I flipped into the air from hitting the curb so hard. My neck was tweaked, but head saved. I'm on my 2nd Scorpion and have no need to upgrade until this one is done for.
