I figured I'd check here since google didn't yield results I wanted... Is anyone familiar with any other full face helmets out there other then the Scorpion EXO-1000 and the HJC that have the flip down tinted inner visor? I think that's a pretty neat idea and would come in pretty handy but the HJC seems really cheap and crappy and the Scorpion with it's silly inflatable cheeks and tons of vents that don't seem to do anything make it weigh a ton and don't appeal to me. Is there another similar option?

If I recall you have the shoei rf-1000, I was thinking of getting the same helmet, how do there sizes run compared to a HJC? ...

I wear a large in an HJC. My Shoei is an X-large. I looked at every brand I could find. I can't believe how much the sizes differed. For me they ran any where from a medium to an extra-large. If at all possible, find someplace where you can try one on before ordering!

So true and good advice for sure. Not only are the sizes not real uniform but the shapes vary a LOT and the whole point of a helmet is protection so it only makes sense to get the one made for your size and shape head. I've never understood how people can just look online and pick the one with nice graphics and order it without ever having tried it on, especially considering some retailers won't refund helmets.

UPDATE: For anyone looking for a similar helmet to the ones mentioned here with the internal sun visor HJC is now making a newer model called the IS-16. It seems pretty similar to the H-10 or whatever the old one was with the shade inside but has some improvements done to it and is available in more colors and graphics then before. They're cheap at only $179 so I may give one a try even though I didn't really care for the predecessor.
