I am new to this forum, and I just purchased a new 04 warrior. I was wanting to make some mods like adding the BUB slip-on slash cut pipe. Has anyone made this mod? Does the computer need to be refigured? Will saddle bags work with the slip-on?

I also am looking at a corbin rumble seat for the wife and myself. Anyone put on one of these? How about a cruiser rack with the corbin seat?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Big Dog, I put on a Bub purchased this month from a fellow RSW guy here. Looks fabulous (IMHO). Sounds LOUD!! Also have Barons Air Induction System block off, PCIII and SpeedStar scoop. Fit and finish of pipe is outstanding, looks like it could be stock. I run the standard PCIII map that came with the unit. Am awaiting dyno tune for after recall work someday. Oh, and absolutely no popping and backfiring PROVIDED throttle is completely closed during deceleration. You can see a little peek of the pipe in my sig photo.
Doesn't seem to be a map around here for the Bubs slash cut slip tho.
Bike runs great without a new map, but I have not checked the plugs since the pipe (Iridium plugs). Another big plus is that the Bub pipe cools quickly after engine shut down. Stock can is heat sink, boils for quite a while.

Forgot to mention, ou shed about 12 pounds or so when losing the stock exhaust can and I have read you may pick up perhaps 1 entire HP. Those two numbers would (all other factors equal) net you 20 plus feet in standing start 1/4 mile.

Hey big dog, welcome to a great site and a great bunch of guys who are very knowledgable of warriors.I didn't use a bub slipon, I used a roadhouse slipon. My own personal experience is that I didn't have to mess with the ecu,it's a straight bolt on mod and my bike runs great.I don't have saddlebags, but I can't see why the slipon and the bags wouldn't work together.Search through the gallery for the corbin rumble seat there are one or two guys with this. Can't help with the rest.Good luck.

Thanks guy, I new someone in Warrior land could help. This forum has been great. I just got back on a bike again after 14 of being off. Me and the wife took a head on at 60mph so it's taken some time to mount the horse again. I like the looks of the pip, therefore it shall be.

Thanks again, Take Care, Be Safe!

Big_Dog, dont rush your choice of pipe, do a lot of investigation and you'll find things like the following: You can get 10hp extra out of a V&H pro-pipe, you will get about 1/2hp out of the Bub slip on, the pro-pipe can scrape the ground when hard cornering, the speedstar pipe makes 5hp less than the pro-pipe but has excellent ground clearance etc.etc.etc. I could go on for hours.

Do some searches and you will start to get the information you need.

As for messing with the bikes ecu, any pipe that makes more power will require some adjustment but its pretty straightforward: if you search through the forum there is a step by step guide to adjusting the ecu with lots of nice pictures.

As far as Bub goes, I ordered three and sent all three back. The style is good looking but their quality sucks!quote:Originally posted by Big_Dog

I have the Bub Slip-On and I really like it - good pipe. I like it beause it is economical, looks great and is not extremely loud. After it gets a nice coating of carbon it really sounds nice. I custom painted the slip-on and the header pipes but here's a good shot of the lines of the pipe.

No problem with saddlebags and also plenty of clearance. That's also one of the reasons why this is a good pipe - plenty of clerance.

Just got low fuel lite at 105 miles. That is first full tank with the Bubs slip-ons and Iridium plugs. Having gun with the new sound machine, so I have not been easier on the throttle, if anything a little MORE wrist action. I only have 1300 miles on bike tho. So far the low fuel lite would come on between 89-92 miles. Pleased with the improved fuel economy and suspect it is a combination of the exhaust mod and iridium plugs.

Now from someone on the performance front. Have both a V&H propipe and a Bubs slash cut slip on. I too have issues with their quality and ordered three and sent 'em all back. Got a Propipe and when a used one came available I snagged it up. It's getting coated black as well so finish was no big deal. Sound is great, not loud, especially compared with the Propipe. I like the ground clearance the stock header offers and that's important to me. I cant hang my large saddlebags with this system though and will switch back to the propipe if I have too in order to mount them. With a stock airbox you'll be ok running them too with no changes to the ECU or PC3 purchase. I'm running this system with a full Speedstar performance kit and although slightly less potent than the Propipe this pipe still performes well enough. I'm in it for the sound, clearance , and looks and this one fits my taste as does the Roadhouse slip on.

This bike rocks in the twisties, and I suppose it might outperform all the other cruisers in the twisties, so I do not want a pipe that is going to add power but restrict its maneuverability. Course if the twisties are not your thing, then max power and low pipes is probably just the right thing.

I am not sure if being 5 9 would be a problem or not, youd need to talk to Bismark and see what he thinks. I'm 5 11 and could quite happily jack up the bike loads without a problem. When I get the kit installed I am going for the max 2" lift at the back to quicken up the steering a bit and improve clearance . I'm really happy with the solution as I'm also getting easy brackets and with the pro-pipe slung really low I should be able to put decent size bags on for 2 up touring.
