...if I disconnect the horns from the brackets, they are super LOUD!

I removed stock horns because I thought they were bad. Tested new horns and they are like freight train horns. Connected them to the brackets on bike and complete [email protected]!

Tested OEM horns without mounting them and they are super loud.

It's as if there is a bad ground or something causing a drain on the horn circuit.

Thoughts?!

EDIT: Unless others already knew this...

It appears the bike has to be RUNNING for the horns to be loud. If the bike is not running, they are pretty darn quiet. Is this a known thing?

Appears my battery is taking a dump on me. Was on tender and showed 12.80v +/- 1v. After a few horn pushes, it's now registering 11.87v +/- 1v. During crank, volts drop to under 7.50v, but go back to normal volt range when engine is running.

Yes if your volts on the battery drop that low while cranking I think the battery is toast either that or you have some serious connection issues causing it drain on the system
