I need to drain all the gas out of the warrior to ship it. Any ideas on how to drain the lower tank? Do you think it will just drain off the line from the upper tank or will I have to syphon it. (yeck, I hate the taste of gas)

i just had a thought. just drain the upper tank by pushing in on the quick disconnect valve like takeing air out of a tire. nobodys gonna know theres a lower tank & since its a closed system it wont produce fumes
chances are they will just open the gas cap and wiggle it around and look. We used to have huge problems at dealer shows- had to drive the cars there ,but they couldn't have fuel in them. Turns out they just looked at the gauge. To aviod problems the owner had the shop take the floats off of the senders.
Well I should have just left the gas in the lower tank but I took it for one last 20mi. ride When I got towards the end I had to go around my block like 20 times till it ran out. It was a nice goodbye :-(
Thanks, I have to say It felt strange just leaving the bike in the shipping container. I felt like I wanted to watch it get loaded onto the plane and wave goodbye.
When I bought mine fron Duncan, he and his wife sat across the street from the bank and watched me leave. He told me later that it was strange to see someone else riding his bike off.
When I picked mine up from the freight Co I had a full tank of gass in my Warrior. I have no idea why they shipped it that way. You probably could have shipped it with gas with no problem
Sorry about the loss of bike. I'm thinking about adding a new R1 next spring.
Lower fuel tank can be emptied by disconnecting fuel line running from lower tank to the fuel injectors. It's just one rubber fuel line on the right side next to the rear cylinder. Aim it into a container. Turn the key on without starting the bike. The fuel pump will drain the tank.
Never thought about turning the key on and letting the fuel pump do the work. Next time.
