Yup, thats what it sounds like. Maybe your garage is sloped for water drainage and that aided in the fall..

Dont worry dude, I remember one time on my first bike, I went to park my bike on a side slant, with the kick stand on the lower side and Woop, right over. I fell with the bike, Now that was embarassing

 

Happened to me last year. Exactly the same thing. I'm not new to putting kick stands down either. I was pisssssed!!!

 

Bike jumps right off the kickstand.

 

Ouch. Any damage?

 

It happened to me too but on my GS1100esd. My tach has been messed up ever since. So far it has not happened with the warrior though. If you happened to have messed up the tank, I think you can at least order a new painted replacement at the steeler. Sorry to hear the bad new.

 

I'm picky about parking bikes...I won't park the bike pointed downhill, even the slightest slope. I'll back it in if that's my only option.

 

I feel your pain, it happened to me too..Only mine fell off of the pit bulls... But look at it this way, right now i am getting my dent fixed and a custom paint job! How big of a dent is it, and is the paint scratched. If not, and it is a shollow dent it might be able to be pulled with paintless dent repair.. Just a thought.

 

ALMOST happened to me the other day. I was at the gas station filled up and the motored across the parking lot to get some air in my tires. got to the air machine about the same time as some cager. I was more worried about him not hitting me and I got sidetracked. went to set my bike down on the kickstand but my kickstand wasnt down. I still to this day have no idea how i saved it. it started going down but didnt stop where I thought it should have stopped. talk about a panic moment and pure adrenaline to pull up a falling bike. got almost as far as the peg touching before I got it stopped and then muscled it back upright. theres nothing like feeling like an idiot in front of about 30 people fueling up.
anyway sorry to hear you dropped her but think of it this way ..you got your first ding out of the way now youre good to go.

 

What happened to me was similar, except that I was stupid. I was on my bike, and got off and walked away with out putting the kickstand down. Luckily, I caught it, but not before it broke my foot peg. Sorry about your mishap.

 

I worry about the same thing so I reach down with the ol'hand to let down or bring up the kickstand....besides I hate cleaning boot marks and seeing scratches left behind.

Damage report: Curled the clutch lever, marred up the left grip, dented the tank, scratched both front and rear pegs, marred the rear turn signal, scratched the belt guard and swing arm.

It sounds worse than it actually looks, but like I said...400 miles!

It was pristine...

On top of that, an hour before it happenned I just sent a check to Churchill for the VBAK and ordered my PCIII and Samsons. Now I have another $500 to give up for the deductable.

I almost had a similar experiance....

the worst part, it wasnt even on my bike, my friend john bought his warrior, came over, we installed churchkeys VBAK (funny you mentioned it), he test rode it, then i did, stepped off the bike without ever putting the stand down!!!!

luckly it fell towards me, and my leg caught it (twisted my ankle something fierce though)

john had to help lift the bike off me.... so not cool [:I]

 

My Brother just did that with his Vstar last weekend. Happens to everyone!

 

Wow I had the same thing happen to me today. Luckuly (Is that a word) it hit the side of the car on the way down. That put a small dent it the door of the car but slowed the fall. What I was wondering is if anyone has a rear turn signal that they would be willing to sell. I broke a clutch lever and scraped up the end of the grip. I have already order those. It also slightly bent the billet shifter and scraped the seat a little and the rear swingarm and lower belt guard. I will never start the bike unless I'm on it again. Not a Good Day.

Happened to me on my CBX, watching a pair of legs walk by in a mini skirt. I was so busy checking out her exposed cheeks that I went over with the bike. That is a one of that I have not done since, check the stand twice all the time

 

Warrior don't need no special warmup[8D] Ain't a car and seems bad practice to fire it up and walk away[V] Kwitcherbitchin' 'cause at least you have a bike to worry about[8D] Best to make yer dumbass mistakes in the driveway than out where it will get you killed[B)]
Parts is replaceable and the bike usually comes out better with a little customizin'[/emoticons/emotion-5.gif]

 

The Warrior kickstand generally takes two kicks to get it all the way forward and down - two kicks always to make sure it's fully down.

Churchill, eh? Isn`t he dead. Must be a Vbak made out of some old military equipment that scoffed after WW II (the big one).

 

And, will it work as good as a Churchkey? Can you open beer with it?
