How subtle is the Idle Ajustment Knob? Is there a trick? Do you have to be standing on your right leg with your left hand finger up you nose while you turn the knob with your right hand?

I'm idling a lil-bit to high (1100-1200) and spinning the **** out of the knob in any direction doesn't do any good.[/emoticons/emotion-6.gif!]

I guess I'll have to take the tank off and see if the cable is connected to anything. [/emoticons/emotion-6.gif!]

roger it sounds like you have trouble there. It never took that much for mine to make the adjustments required. I don't recall anyone else posting about problems with this, i hope it just worked loose and it is a quick fix. I also not seeing it remeber a plastic piece for the knob is it posible that end it the free spinning side? Good Luck with it.

IF for some reason it did unscrew itself from the throttle body bracket, there should be a small coil spring on the threaded end between the cable & bracket. The adjustment knob is also cross slotted for a philliphs head screwdriver. I normally add some throttle with the twist grip to releive pressure on the screw when adjusting it.

OK...What I found under the tank was the the Idle was at its lowest setting. The Idle Knob was turned enough to where the screw wasn't even contacting the throttle bracket under the left scoop.

I tightened it enough so that I could make an adjustment and raised and lowered Idle. Now it idles really rough, and tries to stall even at 1100-1200 rpms where it was before. Also, its backfiring[/emoticons/emotion-6.gif] & popping[8] like mad on throttle release[B)]. The bike runs fine on the road and hwys.

Any suggestions? I was gonna take it in Saturday to get the PCIII connected and tuned [/emoticons/emotion-6.gif!]

Roger, check the intake manifold bolts to the head and the throttle body clamps. Sounds like a leak to me. Also double check that the nipples/hoses on the vacume ports aren't loose. Save your money on a map, there's a good one in the maps to have section, it's for a full speedstar kit. I've tried it on my bike and it's a **** good map even for my headwork combo.

Roger, be sure the bike is fully warmed up before adjusting the idle. IF it still idles fast pull the filter off the end of the LCV hose & plug it. The LCV may be staying/sticking open. It should shut off about 178 degrees & is controled by the oil temperature. You could check the oil temp connection. lower front of the oil tank, faces forward.
