Idle gone wrong

Every so often and more often lately, my idle speed will cycle from 950 to around 1200 RPM's. It does it when the engine is hot. My mods are as follows Big Shots, Thunder round air intake, AIS plugged, PCIII and unit under left side scoop removed. Just a note, My Avon tires are up to 7,000 miles of hard country curves and still dooing good. Starting to show a little flat in the cenyer of the rear. Any one have any ideas on the idle problem. If you have done any electrical mods make sure the Wires or wiretaps are secure. I had a bad wiretap that caused a surge like that.

Check the LCV. It adds additional air when the engine is cold. If it is sticking it could cause problems. You should also check the engine temp sensor and connections.

Sounds like your tire pressure is low. My bike will idle from 850 to 1000 and it will change at all different temps, not sure why but it runs just fine so I dont worry about it.

Good point. If you can get rid of ALL wiretaps and start soldering. I had too many 'magic' problems with those wiretaps.

Same problem here. Unplugged the wire connector from the LCV valve added some electrical greese and re-connected good and tight. Problems are all gone now.

I had the same problem with mine it took the dealer 2 weeks to figure out what was wrong. it was some type of sensor he had to adjust. i just can't remember what it was. the number to the dealer that fixed mine is 1-866-yamaha-0. ask for service dept. and the guy that does the electrical work on warriors.

Yup, if your LCV is not plugged in tightly and functioning, it can cause that exact symptom.
