I finally got around to installing my Power Commander III and thought others would like to hear the adventure. Actually, it SHOULD have been very easy. The directions were very clear EXCEPT for a screw up in those that referred to the “wire tap connector” (alternately called the “wire tap”).

There were mistakenly TWO sets of directions for the wiretap. The first one coming around step 5 was completely out of place and led to mass confusion and momentary panic. It should have been deleted before printing. How these errors get past proofreaders (if any) is beyond me! Manufactures need to realize that the instructions (manual) are as important as the product in terms of customer satisfaction.

Also, I learned long ago that “Japanese clamps” are designed by the devil and are very difficult to deal with. Must be a special tool somewhere that makes them easier to deal with.

RIDE SAFE….

RE: "Japanses clamps"
Under the left front of the tank are two vent lines. The one that tees into another line has a really weird little spring loaded clamp that sits next to two other similar clamps. It's really not that much of a probelm, just a PITA. I'm sure there is a handy-dandy tool that makes it easy. Would appreciate advice if anyone knows if it exists[/emoticons/emotion-1.gif].
